The 紫色的线 promotes domestic violence awareness on campus, founded by a former student, after a personal experience wth domestic violence.

我们做什么: 举行活动, 募捐, collaborate with other groups on campus, and spread awareness about domestic violence.

The 紫色的线 sells bracelets around campus to raise funds for The Grace Smith House, a local women’s shelter. Our Purple bracelets are made in the Philippines by Threads of Hope.
Threads of Hope provides work for families, so they can stick together, avoid exploitation, and pursue education to set a new trajectory for their lives.

Purplethread meetings will be generally held every other or next Tuesday nights around 9-9:30 p.m in the student river rooms or other rooms within the student center.

A general club meeting may include going over information included in a powerpoint, as well as events such as collaborating with other clubs/groups on campus, such as the Dance Ensemble or Active Minds here at Marist. We also plan to hold community service events in collaboration with the Grace Smith House, a woman’s shelter, and sell our bracelets in the champ breezeway as a 募捐r.

To earn one (1) point: Members must attend a minimum of 50% of club/organization meetings for the semester and 50% of club/organization activities.

To earn two (2) points: Members must attend a minimum of 50% of club/organization meetings for the semester and 75% of club/organization activities + the community service event.

To earn three (3) points (executive board only): Officers must attend 50% of club meetings for the semester and 100% of club activities including community service. If executive board members do not complete all of the requirements to earn three points, they will be eligible to receive up to two points based on the above criteria.
